Home inspection Boston and areas of Massachusetts is required for a new home. Boston home inspectors must make sure that the house is safe and sound to live in. Home inspection Massachusetts and home inspection Boston are also necessary if the house is undergoing major renovation. If Boston home inspectors find that something is amiss in the plumbing, electricity, framing or other aspects of a new home or a addition, the rest of the construction or renovation can’t continue until the problem is fixed. Ideally, a home inspector for a new house should be hired even before the construction begins. A home inspector will begin with the basement and foundation of a home and work his or her way up to the roof. They will record what they see with cameras and with written reports. A home inspection Massachusetts should only take a couple of hours for an average sized home. It’s also fairly inexpensive, depending on the square footage of the home. Home inspection Boston has evolved over the years. Now, a home inspector needs to have a license and insurance and often will belong to a professional organization like the American Inspectors Association. These organizations have codes and standards of ethics that they expect their members to follow. Some home inspectors also have degrees in architecture or engineering or are contractors themselves. However, a reputable inspector shouldn’t offer to fix problems himself, even if he can. Like the other professionals who work on the home, the inspector should also sign a written contract that details what he inspects.

Home Inspection makes sense

Thomas Herbst of Clayton Home Inspection – ASHI Certified Home Inspector Boston Home Inspection

Home Inspection Home Inspection makes sense, Years ago people shook hands on a house and the seller told the buyer all about the house  and everything they knew about the home and that was the deal. Today it’s different  Home Inspections are an important part of the home buying process and the seller most often avoids even answering questions about the home because they might have conflicted interest when trying to sell the home. Times have changed, I have inspected over 8 thousand homes and just when I think I have seen it all, then I am surprised by something new or someone from the do it yourself-er Yankee who takes it upon them-self to take the electrical panel box cover off and add wires to the front of the box  too the person who does not have any problems with 6 inches of water in their basement.

Home Inspectors in  Massachusetts from Boston and Worcester area are not all the same,  some are associated with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), small independent home Inspectors and  small company’s like Clayton Home Inspection Inc and then there is the larger companies or franchise companies. We all pride ourselves as giving our clients the best inspection possible or as I look at the home, as if I were going to purchase the home. It takes time to do it right because as a home  inspector we have one chance to get it right the first time.

Best of  luck
Thomas Herbst
