I couldn't recommend Clayton Home Inspections any higher. I called two other inspectors a week ago and still haven't heard back from either one. But I was able to get confirmation for a next day appointment on the same night.Tom was ultra responsive and professional. When we arrived early the next day, he was energetic and enthusiastic to do the inspection. Tom performed the inspection for the purchase of my condo back in October 2019. I have purchased 3 homes and Clayton Home Inspection is, by far, the best that I have dealt with. I was very lucky to hire Tom to inspect the house I was interested in. We had to get the house inspected very promptly and, fortunately, Tom had an opening for us within 48 hours, on a Saturday afternoon. Can I get a home inspection during the pandemic?
Yes, you can get a home inspection during the pandemic! Buyers don’t have to attend the inspection in person, especially if they are at high risk. If they do attend the home inspection in person, they need to follow the CDC guidelines by wearing a mask, avoiding crowds and staying at least 6 feet away from other people at all times. Sellers are not required at the inspection, and agents should remain outside and secure the property.

You want to be safe and feel as comfortable as possible in what’s likely to be an uncomfortable situation for some. So we rely on the guidance from the CDC and use protective equipment like masks, hand sanitizer, gloves, and protective glasses to help prevent the spread of the virus. And to maintain peace of mind too!

Pandemic home inspection tips to stay safe

Bring hand sanitizer and wear a mask, gloves and protective glasses during the home inspection while maintaining a safe distance of at least 6 feet from others. Don’t touch anything in the house and definitely don’t touch your face. We recommend that a maximum of one buyer/representative be present at the inspection, to reduce the risks of spreading. During the inspection we generally open windows to get fresh air into the house, and we try to honor any other requests that are made to ensure everyone in attendance feels safe.
